Dubai Visa for Tokelauan Citizens: Visa-Free Entry, Stay Rules & Extensions

No advance visa is needed. Tokelau is on the UAE's visa-free list, so Tokelauan citizens get an entry permit when they land in Dubai. If you need to stay longer than your entry permit allows, a 30 Days A2A Visa Extension costs AED 1649 (about NZ$790).

One UAE visa covers all seven emirates:

  • Dubai
  • Abu Dhabi
  • Sharjah
  • Ajman
  • Umm Al Quwain
  • Ras Al Khaimah
  • Fujairah

Do Tokelauan citizens need a visa for Dubai?

People from Tokelau usually travel on a New Zealand passport, so New Zealand's UAE entry rules apply.

Tokelau is on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-free list. Tokelauan citizens get an entry permit stamped at the airport on arrival, with no application before travel.

How long the entry permit lets you stay depends on your nationality, so check with ICP or your airline before you fly. If you need to stay longer, you can apply for an extension inside the UAE.

Because no visa is needed for a normal visit, Dubai Visa Booking does not sell entry visas for Tokelau passports. What we do arrange is more time: if you want to stay longer than your entry permit allows, we can apply for an inside-country extension or an airport-to-airport (A2A) visa change before your permitted stay ends.

Entry rules are based on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa exemption list, checked on 21 October 2026. Rules can change, so confirm with ICP or your airline before you travel. MOFA list · ICP

Arriving in Dubai on a Tokelauan passport

  • Carry a passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
  • Have your return or onward ticket and your hotel booking or host's address ready, as officers can ask.
  • Check how many days your entry permit allows and note your last day.
  • If you plan to stay longer, apply for an extension before that day to avoid overstay fines.

Staying longer than your entry permit

You can extend before your entry permit runs out — from inside the UAE, or with a same-day airport-to-airport (A2A) change. We offer the 30 Days Inside Country Visa Extension (AED 1839 (about NZ$881), 2-3 days), 60 Days Inside Country Visa Extension (AED 2209 (about NZ$1,058), 2-3 days), 30 Days A2A Visa Extension (AED 1649 (about NZ$790), Same day) and 60 Days A2A Visa Extension (AED 2099 (about NZ$1,005), Same day).

Paying from Tokelau

All our prices are in UAE dirhams (AED). If your card is in NZD, your bank converts the amount and may add a foreign transaction fee, so the final charge can be slightly different from the NZD estimates on this page.

Contacting us from Fakaofo

Dubai is 9 hours behind Fakaofo.

Our help desk answers on WhatsApp 24 × 7, so you can reach us at any hour in Fakaofo — a 9am to 6pm working day in Dubai is 6pm to 3am there.

How to apply for an extension

  1. Make sure you are still within your permitted stay — extensions must be applied for before it ends.
  2. Pick the extension that suits you from the options below and press “continue”.
  3. Upload your passport scan, photo and current visa or entry stamp.
  4. Pay online; we submit the extension and keep you updated until it is approved.

A visa approval does not guarantee entry: the final decision is made by UAE immigration on arrival. Fees, processing times and entry rules can change — the price shown at checkout is the one that applies.

Stay longer: extensions for Tokelauan Citizens

Tokelauan citizens enter the UAE visa-free, so only extensions are listed — use one to stay longer than your entry permit allows, and apply before it ends.
